On 15.10.2022, 5th semester students of architecture took a study trip to Hajnówka, organised by Assoc. Prof. Halina Łapińska, DSc, PhD, Eng, Arch. Cost of travel and refreshments on site were reimbursed by the Hajnówka Town Hall.

In Hajnówka, the students met with staff from the Development Department of the Hajnówka Town Hall and the team implementing the project ,,Hajnówka Renewal – Green Transformation”, as part of the ,,Local Development” Programme, financed from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 – 2021 and the state budget.

The aim of the trip was a site visit and inventory of selected parts of the town of Hajnówka for the purpose of developing the concept of ‘pocket parks’ on sites indicated by the Town Council. The students were provided with materials and situation and elevation maps on which they worked during their stay, developing an urban and dendrological inventory of the seven indicated areas. The data collected will be used by the students in the Landscape architecture and green areas module. Concepts for the development of the ‘pocket parks’ will be created, along with greenery designs and plant species selection.

Professor Łapińska also handed over the studies developed by the students of the 5th semester during their summer urban planning practice, such as: colour urban inventory maps of parts of the town of Hajnówka on a scale of 1: 1000, inventory sheets, photo-inventory tables and street frontage drawings.
